At the end of last year, a technically complex construction project was completed in Sigulda - reconstruction of the boiler house and dismantling of the chimney at Pulkveža Brieža iela 109.
The customer was Adven Sigulda, while the complex dismantling of the chimney was carried out by employees of the demolition services company Demontāža.
Throughout the demolition process, the boiler house was in operation, measures were taken to protect the surrounding buildings and communications with the use of high-strength dock scaffolding systems.
The work lasted for four months and cost the customer EUR 170,531.
Mārtiņš Mālnieks, Chairman of the Board of the company Demontāža, says that the demolition of specialised structures requires a special approach: “The project was complicated because there was a boiler house in operation downstairs. The chimney was demolished by properly trained climbers, who lowered it to the height of 35 metres, then dismantled by a special robotic telescopic hoist, as well as a chain excavator.”
