The Property Department of the Riga City Council has completed the forced demolition of an environmentally degrading building at 54 Matīsa iela, Riga City Council informed portal Jauns.lv. Pedestrian and vehicle traffic has been restored in this section of the street.
The Property Department of Riga City Council will recover the costs of the demolition works from the joint owners of the demolished slum.
It is general knowledge that, on the night of 13 April, the floor structures of an environmentally degrading building at 54 Matīsa Street collapsed. The residential building has been classified as a category A slum since 2016 and was unoccupied. The building is owned by several joint owners. No person was injured in the accident.
